Brighton '82

Would you look at that, theres a couple of canonical songs related to Sophie. So, let me start off by clarifying that by "canonical" I am referring to any songs on this page that are either stated by Martin Walls to be related to Sophie at some point or another (past discord messages, explicit linking of a song to Sophie on the soundtrack channel, etc) as well as songs that were created by those who have been involved in the production of music for The Walten Files (e.g. Coker Easler). Maybe that's not the best wording, but you get the gist.

All set? Great.

Let's begin with Brighton '82, an EP released on 11/25/21 by Sweet Tuesday, a (now inactive) band comprised of Coker Easler (former voice actor of Felix Kranken) and various friends of his. Sweet Tuesday previously has produced much of the original music for The Walten Files, notably The Showstoppers II album. Brighton '82 appears to be an EP themed around Sophie Walten, with the title being in reference to the letterman worn in her portrait from episode 3. Many song lyrics seem to be in reference to events in the series not yet revealed, and remain rather cryptic until we get more information.

Sweet Tuesday has since removed Brighton '82 from all platforms following the bands breakup earlier in 2023, but it has forunately been reuploaded to YouTube for your listening pleasure!

Soundtrack

This section is for all songs related to Sophie that are featured on the Official Walten Files Soundtrack and have been stated by Martin (typically via Discord message) to be, in his opinion, reminiscent of Sophie.

To begin with the soundtrack channel, two cover versions of White Room by Cream have been uploaded, with the first being performed by Los Sprinters and the second being performed by Los Silvertons. Neither songs have appeared in the series as of yet, but White Room has been stated by Martin to be a song that Sophie would enjoy, as well as a song that is reminiscent of Jenny and Sophie. How this song relates to them both specifically and how it will be utilized in the series is currently unknown, but it's worth documenting nonetheless.

Along with this, there is also Golden Mirror by Jackson C. Frank, which has connections to Sophie not only through mentions via discord, but also a comment left under the video in reference to a quote found on /jennyletterson from Findjackwalten.com

This song and its ties to Sophie lend a lot of insight, at least in my opinion, to her inner turmoil and emotions which I find make it a really fascinating inclusion. I find this especially true as well when paying attention to it's lyrics and the context in which the song was made/later rediscovered. A friend of mine wrote a really great piece about the background of Golden Mirror and its possible connection to Sophie which can be found on his website that I wont repeat here, but i'll leave it below. I believe it is well worth a read.
